Vol. 2, No 7

Just when you thought the primaries would come to an end, the results in Texas and Ohio distort the election landscape. I discuss the results and the need for a candidate to step down. I address the issues surrounding the Florida and Michigan primaries, how the superdelegates can destroy the party, and I make recommendations to the Democratic Party. In the next segment I discuss the PresidentÕs endorsement of John McCain along with other factors that may affect the election. I then discuss Fortune MagazineÕs announcement that this year Apple is the number one Most Admired Company along with two related articles concerning AppleÕs success and, ÒThe Trouble With Steve Jobs.Ó This episode closes with AppleÕs release of the software development kit for the iPhone and the formation of a $100 million fund for start-ups developing for the iPhone.

Vol. 2, No. 5

This episode is all about election politics. I begin by defining superdelegates and discussing the potential legal battles at the democratic convention.  Next I explore the implications of Mitt RomneyÕs action this week, namely, the release of his delegates to John McCain.  I conclude with a discussion about the influence of the independent voter and the one real issue voters would like to see resolved – partisan paralysis.  I then present the two true factors effecting independent voters choice for president – the candidateÕs character and leadership skills.

Vol. 2, No. 4

This episode is comprised of 5 short segments. I begin with a brief discussion of the concept of a 50 state primary based upon an informal blog poll in the Wall Street Journal and my posting to that blog. Next I discuss the results of Super Tuesday and Mitt RomneyÕs response. The third segment looks at John McCainÕs possible choices for a vice presidential running mate. The fourth segment responds to comments made by radio talk show hosts and republican political pundits and the need to act in a responsible manner. The show then takes a lighter tone and discusses the iPhone and iPod Touch memory upgrades and the release of Bento, a new personal database from FileMaker.

Vol. 2, No. 3

Welcome! This episode reintroduces Patriotcast to new listeners, looks at the Democratic candidates, a quick second look at the MacBook Air and a review of Audio Buddy by M-Audio.

I start by presenting the goal and basic production information regarding Patriotcast. The second segment presents a detailed comparison of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. I provide the candidates' positions on the following issues: immigration, terrorism, the Iraq war, energy policy, fiscal responsibility, economy and taxes, and healthcare. From January 21st to February 1st, I examined the "Issues" section of each candidate's web site and attempted to extract each candidate's position. I have prepared a PDF document of the Democratic Candidates' Position and that you may download. I have also provided a Consolidated CandidatesÕ Position that presents both parties. I hope you find these documents useful. I strongly encourage everyone to go to each candidate's web site and gain your own understanding of the candidate's position. This presentation may not yield the nuances of each position.

I presented the same comparison for the republican candidates during my previous podcast, Vol. 2, No. 2.

The second segment of the podcast revisits the MacBook Air. I also discuss the evolution of my studio from 2005 to 2008 and review the Audio Buddy by M-Audio.
