Patriotcast Vol 2 No 7

Just when you thought the primaries would come to an end, the results in Texas and Ohio distort the election landscape. I discuss the results and the need for a candidate to step down. I address the issues surrounding the Florida and Michigan primaries, how the superdelegates can destroy the party, and I make recommendations to the Democratic Party. In the next segment I discuss the President’s endorsement of John McCain along with other factors that may affect the election. I then discuss Fortune Magazine’s announcement that this year Apple is the number one Most Admired Company along with two related articles concerning Apple’s success and, “The Trouble With Steve Jobs.” This episode closes with Apple’s release of the software development kit for the iPhone and the formation of a $100 million fund for start-ups developing for the iPhone.

Patriotcast Vol 2 No 3

February 2, 2008

Welcome! This episode reintroduces Patriotcast to new listeners, looks at the Democratic candidates, a quick second look at the MacBook Air and a review of Audio Buddy by M-Audio.

I start by presenting the goal and basic production information regarding Patriotcast. The second segment presents a detailed comparison of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. I provide the candidates' positions on the following issues: immigration, terrorism, the Iraq war, energy policy, fiscal responsibility, economy and taxes, and healthcare. From January 21st to February 1st, I examined the "Issues" section of each candidate's web site and attempted to extract each candidate's position. I have prepared a PDF document of the Democratic Candidates' Position and that you may download. I have also provided a Consolidated Candidates’ Position that presents both parties. I hope you find these documents useful. I strongly encourage everyone to go to each candidate's web site and gain your own understanding of the candidate's position. This presentation may not yield the nuances of each position.

I presented the same comparison for the republican candidates during my previous podcast, Vol. 2, No. 2.

The second segment of the podcast revisits the MacBook Air. I also discuss the evolution of my studio from 2005 to 2008 and review the Audio Buddy by M-Audio.

Patriotcast Vol 2 No 2

Welcome!  This episode looks at the Republican candidates and MacWorld 2008.

I present a detailed comparison of Mitt Romney, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee and Fred Thomson.  I provide the candidates' positions on the following issues:  immigration, terrorism, the Iraq war, fiscal responsibility, economy and taxes, and healthcare.  From January 16th to the 18th, I examined the "Issues" section of each candidate's web site and attempted to extract each candidate's position.  I have prepared a PDF document of the Candidates' Position that you may download.  The order of the data has been changed from the podcast presentation to allow for proper comparison among the candidates.  I hope you find this document useful.  I strongly encourage everyone to go to each candidate's web site and gain your own understanding of the candidate's position.  This presentation may not yield the nuances of each position.

I plan on presenting the same comparison for the leading democratic candidates during my next podcast.

The second part of the podcast discusses the announcements that were made at MacWorld 2008: Mac OS X Leopard Sales, Time Capsule, iPhone software enhancements (mapping location), iTunes Movie Rentals and Apple TV, and MacBook Air.
